Witch Doctor

Just a little character study I did after the hanzel and grettel piece. I wasn't 100% happy about the stereotypical witch I did for that and thought it would've been much better with more of witch-doctor type character. I like the hanzel & grettel piece, so I didn't want to change it, but I thought I'd explore the character separately.

These are just some random sketches I've done over the past couple days in Sketchbook Pro. A great sketching program! It takes some getting used to as far as navigation and shortcuts, but there's no lag like in photoshop and painter; it sticks to the basics to increase productivity speed.

also...if anybody is interested, we're looking to hire an artist to do girly/cute illustration/product design. If you're interested, let me know and I'll fill you in on the details.

Slug Portrait

Slug is the MC of the Hip Hop Duo Atmosphere. I ve been listening to his music and lyrics for the last 3 years. He usually raps in an intensely personal, often introspective style, acting as a kind of storyteller relating his own experiences to his audience. Slug's songs often deal with alcohol problems, tour life and depression, and his difficult and destructive relationships with women. So here is SLug tell me what you think.........

A book cover for a Canadian Author's 3rd book on Hockey. In brief, the book is a retrospective setting about a pro-hockey players youth. The setting takes place in the 1980's, thus the "old style" gear, featuring full face-mask etc.

Churchill's War Room (DK Publishing)

This is an illustration I just did for Dk Publishing UK, Its Churchill's War Room during WWII ( I am sure Ted and Chris will like that).
I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy this assignment, it was WWII, Black and white (something I don't do often), but I ended up enjoying doing all the research for clothing, hairstyles, phones...

I went through many versions and I started over more times than I'd like to recall.I wanted to do a piece that showed children,"Just As They Should Be".Often times they are robbed of these simplistic moments for a harsher reality due to circumstances and people in their environment.

So this is my second little short starting the stupid kid. In this short stupid kid does his taxes and ends up feeling a little "light". Along with this short I am also including the original storyboard from my sketchbook and some development art as well as pencils sketches for the key poses.
